A bit breezy outside but I am sitting here
listening to the birds chirping
and the wind blowing through the tree branches.
I spent the day working on new pieces.
Two Heart shaped Courting/Vanity Mirrors and two
sizes of my Tall Case Clock/Watch Holder.
The inspiration for the mirror came
from a friends post on Facebook of one of their
favorite antique pieces...a heart shaped
board that had some sort of seal attached to it.
I have no idea what the original piece
was used for BUT I immediately pictured
a hand held/hangable mirror!

The Art Tramp Tall Clock/Watch Holder
The last two photos are of the first
Tall Clock I made which is now in a private collection.
I have changed the structure slightly
in the two newest pieces so that the watch will remain
with the case when the bonnet is removed.
Now I am searching for inexpensive old pocket watches...
working or broken.

Many more pieces are in the works. Two sizes of
an 1800's style German Toy Automobile,
three Ravens (small, large and a NEW style),
three Snowmen (small, medium & large),
several NEW Sewing Boxes, a four drawer chest,
some single drawer boxes, Bible boxes,
some larger boxes using antique seed and
spool boxes as the base, a bank
and two game tables using antique table bases....
so keep checking back here or visit my
artists page at www.facebook.com/arttramp and

Love the vanity mirror and the antique inspiration piece. The mold reminds me of a butter or possibly beeswax mold but it doesn't look quite deep enough. Interesting. I especially love the clocks. Have fun searching for old pocket watches. I enjoy the hunt for something specific, it usually leads to unexpected find.
